Instructor Bio:
Author and teacher Robert C. Worthington guides you through the
perils of contract and purchasing law with clarity and humour.
A former barrister and award-winning university lecturer, he
has written and taught legal education courses for over 26 years,
focusing on contract, competitive bidding and procurement law.
Bob
wrote the first Canadian book on contract and purchasing law
designed especially for procurement professionals, entitled the
Purchasing Law Handbook. The two-volume desk-top reference, now
in its second edition, is updated once annually. Bob’s second
book, The Public Purchasing Law Handbook, is a companion text to
the Purchasing
Law Handbook, and covers issues pertinent to Municipal,
Provincial and Federal Government purchasing and contract management.
Bob’s newsletter, The
Fine Print – Procurement Law
Review, published every eight weeks, aims at helping supply and
materials management professionals reduce their legal risk, improve
their contracting and competitive bidding and stay up-to-date on
the changing laws that affect their day-to-day business affairs.
From time to time, he also writes articles for a number of national
procurement industry publications, including Summit Magazine and
Municipal World.
