CELEBRATING THE 20TH ANNUAL
MATERIEL MANAGEMENT NATIONAL WORKSHOP

May 11 – 15, 2009
Montreal, Quebec
Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel

The Materiel Management Institute (MMI) proudly celebrates 20 years of success in representing the dynamic collaboration of functional specialists within Materiel Management and the Procurement of the federal Public Service. To celebrate this anniversary, MMI is changing its name to the Canadian Institute for Procurement and Materiel Management (CIPMM), marking the continued achievements of the Procurement and Materiel Management community working together in meeting common objectives and goals.

Effective Life Cycle Asset Management in the Federal Public service is the primary objective of this workshop. In addition, we are encouraging participants to submit related topics that reflect the spirit of working together as a community in providing exceptional value to Canada through our diverse services, initiatives, and our tireless commitment to fulfilling program objectives through efficient, and fiscally-sound materiel management practices that satisfy legislative and broader public issues.

The procurement, management and disposal of materiel is very much a balancing act. Ministers and Deputy Heads are accountable to Parliament, Cabinet and Treasury Board for the sound stewardship of the materiel entrusted to them or used by their organization. By using Life Cycle Management techniques and working together with operational managers and experts in investment planning, procurement and disposal; materiel managers can move towards ensuring that their decisions meet the needs of the Management Accountability Framework (MAF), satisfy socio-economical, environmental and national objectives, and represent the best value for the Crown.

Join us in this celebration!
