This
session is designed to assist managers in better understanding
the scope and challenges of the federal government’s
real property sector. Brian Acheson and Hendrik Siré,
both well-known within the federal real property community,
will deliver this professional development workshop.
“Real Property Fundamentals” is
designed to provide an overview of frameworks, strategies,
values, tools and processes
that govern real property decision-making within the federal
government. There is a need to consider the size and scope
of the federal government’s real property, to understand
the policy expectations of central agencies with respect
to real property management, to identify the objectives and
goals
of real property management, and to assess the issues and
challenges being faced in the real property community. This
session may
assist participants in applying new insights and ideas from
the real property sector to their materiel management roles
and responsibilities.

This workshop is aimed to provide an overview of the real
property function to individuals involved in procurement
or materiel management.
